Sundogs teams (U9 and older) travel to Edmonton each summer to play in tournaments. Our U9 teams go to one tournament and the U11 and older teams go to 2 tournaments.
Travelling to tournaments is an essential part of being in Sundogs so that our players can participate in a competitive environment that allows them to implement and develop their skills after a long winter of training.
The first tournament is the Summer Sizzler or the Slurpee Cup in early June. We attend whichever tournament does not conflict with the NWT Track and Field Championships in Hay River.
The second tournament is the Spruce Grove Moon Day in mid July.
Due to Covid-19, Sundogs did not travel to tournaments in summer 2020 or in summer 2021.
We will post the dates for the summer 2022 tournaments as soon as they become available.
