Sundogs Soccer League - Summer 2026

Yellowknife Bay Soccer Club is pleased to be expanding the Sundogs Soccer League (SSL) in Summer 2026.

Mens Division 

• The Mens Division has concluded its Winter 25/26 season and registration is now open for Summer 2026. Cost per player is $75. 
• While each player must register individually, Team Captains can assemble their own rosters. Anyone interested in becoming a captain and assembling a team should contact YBSC.
• New players without a team who are interested in joining the league should send an email to ybsc_registrations@yellowknifebaysoccer.ca. Efforts will be made to place players on existing teams or new teams.
• The Mens Divisions is a competitive, not recreational, league. 
• The Mens Division also provides playing and developmental opportunities for YBSC male youth players. There is no specific minimum age by which youth players can play in the Mens Divisions. The decision to allow a youth player to play in the Mens Division will be an individual decision at the discretion of the club. In Winter 2025/26, player born in 2014 were the youngest players allowed to play in the league.

Womens Division

• If the interest is sufficient, YBSC is expanding by adding a Womens Division in Summer 2026. YBSC expects that the Womens Division will operate in a similar manner to the Mens Division.
• Thanks to a grant provided to YBSC to promote female soccer, the cost of the Womens Division will only be $25 per player. Registration is now open!
• If you are interested in being a Team Captain and assembling a womens team, then please contact YBSC.

Youth Divisions

• YBSC is creating youth divisions for the SSL in Summer 2026. Games will be played in a variety of venues around Yellowknife and will be played both indoors and outdoors. It is expected that the Youth Divisions will operate from early June to early August.
• Registration is now open and the cost for the summer is $50.
• All current YBSC youth players (2018 and older) will be part of the SSL in Summer 2026 and there is no cost or registration required.
• Players who were registered players with Aurora Minor Soccer League in Winter 25/26 will receive a 50% discount so the cost will be $25. AMSL will be distributing the discount code to its players.
• The youngest players in the SSL for Summer 2026 with be those born in 2018, which is U8. Select players from 2019 (U7) may be allowed to participate if they are physically and mentally ready to compete.
• Registered youth players in the SSL will be placed into divisions and on teams that are created according to age and/or gender. How the divisions and teams will be split by age and/or gender will be determined based upon the number of players registered. 
• All youth players in the SSL must be current or new members of YBSC. Please note that there is a difference between YBSC's Sundogs program and the SSL.
• While YBSC's Sundogs youth players will be part of the SSL, new players may join YBSC to play in the SSL without joining the Sundogs program. If a player wants to join both the Sundogs developmental program and the SSL in Summer 2026, then they should contact YBSC at ybsc_registrations@yellowknifebaysoccer.ca. YBSC's Sundogs program will continue operating in Summer 2026 alongside the SSL.
• As all players in the SSL must be members of YBSC, youth players registered with any other soccer organizations in Summer 2026 are not eligible to play in the SSL.

• Please note that all players in the SSL must be members of the NWT Soccer Association. Please visit their website to obtain your annual player registration. As NWTSA's registration year ended March 31, 2026, all players will have to acquire their new 26/27 membership.
